CREATIVE SOLUTIONS FROM PRACTITIONERS; Discussion Facilitated by Dr. Tim Sharp (Executive Director, American Choral Directors Association) & Dr. Michael Bedford (President, American Guild of Organists)
Come explore the creativity of church musicians across the country, while sharing your own innovative ideas for coping with these unusual times! Contribute your “best ideas” on music in worship during the pandemic in one or more of the categories below as “payment” for your registration. Then, tune in on Saturday, November 14 for an interactive session with your colleagues who have found creative ways to safely bring music to their congregations. Prizes will be awarded by the CMI Staff for the best best idea in each of the following categories:
1. Best Ideas for Keeping Choirs Engaged While Not Meeting in Person
2. Best Ideas for Using the Organ in Worship
3. Best Ideas for Using Music to Engage Congregations at Home
4. Best Ideas for Rehearsing Choirs Safely
5. Best Ideas for Clergy and Musicians to Plan and Execute Worship Together in New Ways
6. Best Ideas for Celebrating Advent and Christmas Safely
7. Best Ideas for Simulating Corporate Worship and Congregational Singing Virtually
Can't attend on Saturday? No problem. Register as you would normally; you will receive an email just before the November 14 session with instructions for acquiring the recorded presentation and any associated materials at a later time!
Registration closes at 12:00 noon CST on Friday, November 13.
